HOW TO DO SEED CYCLING

Allow 3 menstrual cycles to see results.
Why seeds?
Both flax and sesame seeds are full of lignans, which help to block excess estrogens. Sunflower seeds are high in selenium which is a helpful mineral essential for liver detoxification and processing/removing excess hormones from the body. Pumpkin seeds, which are high in zinc, help to support proper progesterone release.
Phase 1 (Follicular phase) = Day 1 of Period until Ovulation**
  • Phase 1 includes flax seeds and pumpkin seeds.
  • Take 2 tablespoons daily beginning the first day of your period and continue for approximately 14 days until ovulation.
Phase 2 (Luteal phase) = Ovulation until Day 1 of Period
  • Phase 2 includes sunflower seeds and sesame seeds.
  • Take 2 tablespoons of each daily beginning on the day you ovulate for approximately 14 days until you begin your period.

SEED PREPARATION

Only prepare a 2 day supply at a time as the ground seeds are susceptible to oxidation and can go rancid. Store the ground seeds in an airtight container or jar and keep in the refrigerator to maintain maximum freshness.

HOW TO CONSUME

The easiest way to eat them is in smoothies, salads, soups, sprinkled on oatmeal and added to vegetables or grains. Or you could just eat them on their own.


**If you are not menstruating, menopausal or post-menopausal, you can use lunar phases to determine when to start each phase. Begin phase 1 at the new moon and phase 2 at the full moon.

Tips and Tricks:

  • Seeds are kept cold and should be ground fresh to order to preserve nutrients.

  • Finely ground for maximum absorption.

  • Keep in the fridge or freezer with lid tightly fastened to preserve freshness.

  • Seeds will settle and clump. That is normal and natural!

  • Add to oatmeal, cereal, smoothies, salads, warm grains and more!
